EBHC DPhil clusters

Designed to help shape your DPhil topic and ensure a smoother application process.

Choosing your DPhil topic can be tricky, therefore we've identified a set of clusters (themes) that represent the broad subject areas that we would like our DPhil students to explore, and that best identify with Evidence-Based Healthcare, to help you shape your topic and ensure it fits our criteria early on in your application process. 

It is not necessary to contact a potential supervisor before you apply, but we recommend you do so as they can provide feedback on your proposed topics.

Cancer screening, detection and prevention

Screening, diagnosis and prognosis in health care

Evidence-based evaluation of health care interventions

Current projects underway include work on medical innovations’ pathways to market, identifying indicators of ‘success’ in weight management, as well as clinical and cost-effectiveness evaluations.

Pharmacovigilance and adverse effects
