Tutor Expertise: Diagnostic Tests
Let's meet some of our tutors whose research interests lie in diagnostics:
Dr Annette Plüddemann is Course Director of the MSc in Evidence-Based Health Care and is interested in understanding and assessing the evidence for diagnostic tests and how they are used in the clinical pathway, and how we use evidence to inform diagnostic decisions and the quality of that evidence. Annette's recent meta analysis' include Diagnostic accuracy of point-of-care natriuretic peptide testing for chronic heart failure in ambulatory care and Diagnostic value of symptoms and signs for identifying urinary tract infection in older adult outpatients. Annette is currently interested in the transmission dynamics of respiratory viral illness, including COVID-19. Annette enjoys supervising and mentoring student projects and is always excited to hear about the clinical questions students have and how these can be answered by looking at the evidence. | |
Jason Oke, a Senior Statistician and co-leads two modules on the MSc in Evidence-Based Health Care, Statistical Computing with R and Stata and the Introduction to Statistics for Health Care Researchers.
