Margaret Smith
Senior Statistician and Epidemiologist
I have been working in the Department since October 2014. I am a medical statistician and I am part of the CPRD (Clinical Practice Research Datalink) team. I have worked on the study design, data mangement and statistical analysis for many studies. My current collaborations include studies on fracture in people with intellectual disability, anaemia, and eosinophils in COPD. I'm also part of the Cancer Group. I am Deputy Directory of the MSc EBHC in medical statistics and a co-ordinator of the Big Data Epidemiology module. I also teach on the Introduction to Study design and Research Methods and the Essential Medical Statistics modules.
Before joining the Department I worked in the Nuffield Department of Population Health on two very large prospective observational studies of Chinese men and women.
