The Teaching Evidence-Based Medicine 30th Anniversary Award
Helping to inspire the next generation of evidence-based health care educators.
What is the TEBM 30th Anniversary Award, who can apply, and how are successful candidates chosen?
This award provides funds to advance the understanding of evidence-based medicine, health care and practice though promoting the principles of evidence-based medicine, building capacity of evidence-based medicine practitioners, and encouraging positivity and inclusivity.
The Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine was established in Oxford in 1995. Over the years, it has grown into an internationally renowned teaching and research excellence unit, inspiring hope and belief that better clinical care for patients is possible through EBM tools. The Centre's initial 1995 strategy involved delivering a teaching course on EBM to develop the next generation of leaders in the field. The Centre built a network of tutors locally and worldwide who shared the philosophy of CEBM.
To celebrate these 30 years and the many contributions to teaching EBM, we would like to recognise trailblazing EBM educators with an award that provides funds to advance the understanding of Evidence-Based Medicine (practice) by:
- Promoting the principles of EBM
- Building the capacity of EBM practitioners in their field
- Encouraging positivity and inclusivity
Who can apply?
- EBM educators who have attended, taught, facilitated and contributed to the Teaching Evidence-Based Medicine (now Teaching Evidence-Based Practice) course.
How are successful candidates chosen?
- Nominees (applications) will be reviewed by Prof Carl Heneghan and Dr David Nunan and judged on how they’re application for these funds will fulfil the three bullet points above.
